Honored for
displaying the
Character Quality of
Joyfulness
Honor begins with showing respect for the basic value of a person by
treating each person with dignity. It provides a flow of life-giving strength to
the person and encourages him or her to continue to do well or to do even
better. Here are some thoughts about honor to consider:

Why is Honor so Important?
"It is only as we
develop others that
we permanently
succeed
."
--Harvey S
.Firestone

Honoring a person for good actions or character is giving credit that is
actually due them. To withhold honor might actually be thought of as
stealing from that person what is rightfully theirs.
Honoring someone publicly for good character holds up a role model
for others to copy.
Honoring someone publicly for good character helps create a "culture
of character" in the community, increasing public awareness of
character.
Honoring those who have served you well in some capacity builds a
climate of good will and teamwork in the organization you serve.
What one chooses to honor shows his value system and helps
determine the results of his labors.
Taking the time to honor those who deserve it shows the quality of
one's own character.
